“nothing matters, so choose what does:” thoughts on nihilism, humanity and kindness

nothing matters so choose what does.

even if you think it doesn’t, live like it does, pretend if you need to

i need you to matter because it matters to me,
i choose to make you matter,
i want you to matter more than not

existence is strange, i’ve noticed that i er on wanting things to exist for the sake of existence.

in one way or another, the truth comes to the surface: humans are fragile creatures that survive through cooperation, love and allyship

all people die, face pain, and struggle; why add to the suffering of another? why face more suffering at your own hands? why pretend that we aren’t scared of the things that hurt us? that might kill us?

why attempt to ignore the differences? everyone feels pain differently; some don’t feel it at all, but we all ultimately face a struggle that causes us pain in one way or another; it’s one of the ultimate reasons that drives our change, anxieties, and feelings

you are worthy regardless of what you think or feel, but try to respect and understand how others do things

you aren’t the centre of the world. still, you should be the centre of attention in your own world; it’s not selfish to take time to heal, to take care of yourself, to not extend too much but not too little…

broken people who tend to hurt other people; they might not be capable of recognizing that they are hurting themselves and others, but it doesn’t take away from the pain that they’ve caused others, that they’ve caused you.

don’t let anyone fuck you over, but don’t fuck anyone else over without a good reason, and an attempt at letting them tell you no, to consent, to let them know why

honestly, if you’re gonna be an asshole, just be honest about it.

but, because we aren’t gods, everything comes down to capacity, the capacity to do things, the capacity to want things, the capacity to hope for better.

and we ought to try for better;
we ought to give everything an honest shot;
at the minimum, we gave it a shot.

all we can try is to be courteous, accountable and honest with those around us.

all we can try is to aim to…
